Abhijit Muhurat is the short window around local noon considered suitable for starting most new work. It is skipped on Wednesdays in some traditions.
These windows are traditionally avoided for beginning important activities such as travel, signing agreements or ceremonies.
Panchang means "five limbs" — the five measures that define a day in the Vedic calendar. Together they describe the position of the Sun and Moon and the quality of the day for any activity you might plan.
Sunrise and sunset are computed for the exact latitude and longitude of your city, and the day between them is divided into eight parts. Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal each occupy one of those parts, and which part depends on the weekday. Because the calculation starts from local sunrise, these timings genuinely differ from city to city — a panchang for Delhi will not match one for Chennai on the same date.
